Cincinnati was founded in 1788 on the Ohio River in southwest Ohio. Often referred to as the city of seven hills, Cincinnati provides turn-of-the-century homes and modern suburbs in equal measure. In 2004, we were named "Most Livable City" by Partners for Livable Communities.

It's the home to 10 Fortune 500 companies: Procter & Gamble, (offices at center left in above photo) General Electric Aviation, Kroger, Federated Department Stores, Delta Airlines, Duke Energy, 5/3 Bank, Western & Southern Financial, and Cincinnati Financial.
Other respected companies include: American Financial Group, (which includes Great American Insurance), and Chiquita Brands International.)

Cincinnati is home to two major league sports franchises! The winning Cincinnati Reds and exciting Bengals provide the opportunity to watch the best players of each game in brand new, distinctive, and fun stadiums. For Hockey fans, the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones, provide true hockey excitement.

The city boasts outstanding universities such as University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Miami University (Oxford), Nothern Kentucky University, Mt. Saint Joseph, to name a few.

The University of Cincinnati has become one of the more prestigious academic institutions in America. At right, the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies.

Cincinnati provides numerous opportunities to celebrate a gathering. Throughout the year, live music can be discovered in any one of the myriad local clubs sprinkled around town. Live national acts can be appreciated at Riverbend, an open air music venue. For some reason, Cincinnati explodes at the end of summer - literally! The Labor Day Riverfest Fireworks, one of the largest such events in the nation, attract 350,000 people. The historic Tall Stacks Riverboat Festival, paddles to town every four years. Octoberfest and The Taste of Cincinnati provide ample opportunities for food and beverage just as winter sets in.

Those who enjoy the fine arts will appreciate: The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Ballet, Playhouse in the Park and the nationally ranked Cincinnati Art Museum. A good website for a more comprehensive outline of the arts in Cincinnati is: www.cincinnatiarts.org

The annual Rein Dog Parade in Mt. Adams.
The award winning Contemporary Arts Center, downtown.

Other amusement venues include: Paramount Kings Island Amusement Park, The Beach Waterpark, Newport Aquarium, and many, many more!

And speaking of parks, Cincinnati's family parks are well designed and well maintained. Parks range from the fabulous Eden Park just north of downtown to the numerous city, to state and county parks offering hiking, biking and canoeing - Cincinnati's parks are truly jewels in the crown of Cincinnati.

Recent news articles cited the city's fabulous parks as a major reason familes prefer the quality of life in Hamilton County rather than Butler, Warren, and Clermont Counties, where family parks do not exist.
